The time trial stage in Brussels, a 28km loop, covers the most sumptuous avenues and crosses the capital’s most beautiful parks. This was an unmissable opportunity for Once in Brussels! We suggest that you wear your best yellow jersey and join us to become a champion of the e-bike. On our electrically assisted bicycles, we follow the same route that the Tour de France riders will take and discover Brussels during cultural breaks. To celebrate the Grand Départ of the 2019 Tour de France in Brussels, get on your bike and follow the guide to discover this mythical competition. This guided tour will also be an opportunity to celebrate one of the most famous cyclists in the world, Eddy Merckx, winner of the Tour de France five times. From his childhood in Woluwé-Saint-Pierre to his many victories, discover the “Cannibal’s” journey as you pedal. Combining anecdotes from the Tour de France with the history and development of cycling in Brussels, this guided tour will be an opportunity to honour this mythical race in the Belgian capital.

Where does cycling stand today in Brussels and how did cycling and cycling culture come to the city? There is no better way to discover this than to hop onto a bike with a guide. Cycling through the city you will explore the different facets of Brussels’ cycling culture, both past and present. From cycling policy to grassroots cycling initiatives and from an emerging cycling economy to cycling fashion.

A sporty cycling excursion to the outskirts of Brussels (50km) – FRENCH/ENGLISH
For those who are a little more adventurous, this Sunday is also the opportunity to participate in a more physical challenge. This outing will be supervised by Xavier Massart, an ultra-cyclist from Brussels whose CV will impress you. Discover Xavier’s favorite training routes and enjoy a trip of some 50km into Flemish Brabant and the outskirts of Brussels. Average cycling speed of the tour: +/- 25km/h.
